Primary (Grades 1-3)

The Primary program offers a rich learning experience in all basic skills of reading, writing, spelling, and math concepts as well as an introduction to the arts and physical education. Small class settings enable the students to acquire tools that they may need to face the challenges that will affect their future learning and success.

During these primary grades, each student receives a solid foundation in the basic skills that will serve them well throughout their school years, while beginning to learn the importance of self-discipline and responsibility for one’s own learning. The students are taught in an environment that values learning, listening and respect for others.

Kanata Academy follows the Ontario Curriculum but attention is given to the whole child, including emotional, social and physical development. These early learning years are an important time where good study habits are formed and students learn the importance of respecting others.
