Can I drop my child off before camp starts?

Yes, you may drop your child off anytime between 8:00-9:00am. There is no extra charge for before camp care.

Which door do I use to drop off and pick up my child?

All campers will enter the front door of the school with the keypad on it. An email will be sent the week before camp starts to all registered campers. This email will contain the code for access to the school.

Which door do I go to if I am late arriving in the morning?

All campers who arrive after 9:00 am will get dropped off at the main office doors and our office administrator will take your child to the camp they are registered in.

Do I need to pack my child's lunch?

Yes, lunch and snacks are not provided. Please send your child with lunch and snacks.

What do I need to pack for the afternoon Adventures Camp?

Each child will need a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, hat, and running shoes. They also need snacks, and a water bottle.

What do I need to pack for the all-day Theme Camps?

Campers need to bring lunch,snacks, water bottle, sunscreen, and hat. Please label all items.

What do I need to pack for LEGO camp?

Each camper will need to provide their own LEGO. One XL ZIPLOC bag is recommended. Each child will need a water bottle, sunscreen.

If my child is only registered for the morning camps, what time is dismissal?

Our morning camps run from 8:00am until to 12:00 pm .

What time is lunch? What happens during lunch?

Lunch is 12:00-1:00 pm. The children are all supervised by Kanata Academy teachers and support staff. Children eat from 12:00-12:30 pm and go outside to play from 12:30-1:00 pm (weather permitting). If children are inside, they participate in free play and organized activities.

If my child is registered for morning and afternoon camps, what time is pick-up?

All children must be picked up by 5:00 pm. Extra fees will apply for late pick- ups.

Will there be a progress report for the academic camps?

At the end of the week, teachers will write a brief note in your child’s notebook to let you know what concepts were taught and how well they did. You are welcome to speak with your child’s teacher at dismissal as well.

Expectations for All Campers

At Kanata Academy we have high expectations for all of our campers. Campers are expected to respect school property, all teachers and all fellow campers. Campers MUST be able to do the following in order to attend our camps:

    -use the washroom 100% on their own
    -sit and listen to a story, short lesson
    -to focus and participate on an activity for 10-15 mins ( younger campers)
    -to feed themselves ( staff will help open containers, water bottles, etc)
    -to follow directions from a teacher
    -to behave appropriately ( in the classroom and on the playground)
    -to be respectful at all times

Kanata Academy reserves the right to discharge students. Any damage done to school property will be the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.
